Having lived, studied, and worked in five other US states and three other countries, my home is now Princeton, New Jersey, where I currently work as a Senior Lecturer, Director of the German Language Program, and Director of Princeton in Vienna in the German Department at Princeton University. Alongside those roles, I am also a Faculty Fellow at Mathey College and on both the men's and women's ice hockey teams (go Tigers). Trained as a Germanic philologist and historical linguist, my research interests lie primarily in those fields, particularly in historical lexicology, corpus linguistics, and phraseology, but I have also pursued various projects in language periodization, reception history, neurodiversity, and music. Between my postdoctoral appointment and Princeton, I was a secondary educator at a boarding school and an international school.

Outside of the academy, hiking and cooking take up much of my free time besides that spent serving my parish, St. Elizabeth the New Martyr Orthodox Church in Rocky Hill, NJ, as treasurer, bass in the choir, and ministry leader. Detroit sports and reading widely in history, theology, and other subjects fill what remains.
